New construction
When building a new house, there are many aspects to consider and numerous decisions to be made. Therefore, it’s wise to schedule an initial consultation first. This meeting helps clarify your desires and vision, so they can be translated into a design and eventually detailed construction drawings. With a well-thought-out plan, you can prevent misunderstandings and ensure a smooth construction process.

Work process
Intake meeting: We begin the process with a meeting to determine if you’re satisfied with the design and to establish the purpose and timing for the construction drawings: whether for a building permit, finding a contractor, or both purposes.
Original drawings: After the intake meeting, in the case of a renovation, we refer to the existing drawings. You may already have these; otherwise, they can often be requested from the municipal archives. If no drawings are available, I can survey your house and create the drawings. Next, I’ll check which laws and regulations apply to your situation, such as any design guidelines.
New drawings: Now we can proceed with the construction drawings. This involves creating detailed drawings, including structural calculations.
Building permit: For applying for a building permit, at least the following drawings are required:
– Floor plans, cross-sections, elevations
– Detail drawings
– Site plan
– Structural calculations
– Daylight and ventilation calculations
– Photos of the existing situation
Construction supervision
You can choose the extent of supervision you want after obtaining the building permit. For example, there are four stages where construction supervision is possible:
1. Preparation of construction: Assistance with selecting contractors and comparing quotations.
2. Start of construction: Support in creating a detailed schedule and coordinating the initial phase.
3. During construction: Regular site inspections to ensure everything is proceeding according to plan and to promptly address any issues that arise.
4. Completion of construction: Assistance with the final inspection and handling of last-minute details to ensure the project is delivered to full satisfaction.
